JASON DENNING BIO TOP

I aim to capture our world in its raw and natural beauty with impeccable attention to detail in the panoramic format. I don’t use filters, effects or fake skies. I want to bring you incredible moments from our planet as I saw them, because a real moment in nature cannot be beaten. All my work is full of detail and quality for large format prints to create a window into nature inside your home.

I seek out awe-inspiring views and my passion has taken me around the world, from 20,000 mile road trips through North America, hiking the mountains of Lofoten in the Arctic Circle all night during the midnight sun, to the exotic Islands of Asia. My quest for the perfect shot means waking before dawn to get the best light and perfect composition,  witnessing many beautiful moments witnessing many beautiful moments whilst the world sleeps.

My photographic passion began almost 2 decades ago when I was living in London as an award-winning Film Editor. Having grown up in the Yorkshire countryside, the tall buildings and bright lights were a stark contrast to the landscape I was used to and I set out to capture the amazing sunsets I would see daily from my bedroom window overlooking the city. I started out using an old Praktica 35mm camera borrowed from my father, but in my quest to print big and wide I quickly ventured into medium format film and then to my dream camera, a large format 617 panoramic film camera. a format that matched what I knew and loved from the big screen and achieves my goal to capture the bigger picture in a single shot for billboard sized pictures that do not sacrifice on quality.

Today I shoot on large format 617 panoramic film, high resolution digital and drones to bring you our world into your home as you have never seen it before.

Learning on film from day one has taught me how to be a better and more patient photographer, I must be confident in my shot not to waste film. Large format requires a slowness that keeps me thinking all the time as the camera cannot do anything on its own, I is in full control which in turn means everything in my work is a result of intentional thought, years of experience and my vision.
